Effective October 14, 2026

Richmond Stake Self-Reliance runs the self-reliance courses and groups of the Richmond Texas Stake of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Its text messages are sent by Ryan Hibbert on the stake's behalf. This policy explains what we collect through self-reliance.richmondstake.org and our text messages, and how we use it.

What we collect

  • What you enter on the sign-up form: your name, email address, phone number, the course you are interested in, your ward, your preferred meeting format, building and language, whether you are over 18, and anything you tell us about what might make it hard to come some weeks.
  • Whether you agreed to receive text messages, when you agreed, and the exact wording you agreed to.
  • Your replies to our text messages, such as RSVPs and STOP or HELP requests.
  • The language you used the site in, so we can write back in it.

How we use it

  • To contact you about the course or group you signed up for, with dates, times and places.
  • To send you an email confirming your sign-up.
  • If you agreed to texts: to send class reminders, schedule changes and links to catch up on a missed week.
  • To let the stake self-reliance leaders and your class facilitator organize classes.

Who can see it

Only the stake leaders who organize self-reliance classes and the facilitators of the class you join. We use a small number of service providers to run the site and send messages on our behalf (Vercel for hosting, Neon for our database, Brevo for email, Twilio for text messages, and Google Sheets for leaders' records). They may use your information only to provide that service to us.

We do not sell or share your SMS opt-in data or personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.

Text messages

Text messages from Richmond Stake Self-Reliance, sent by Ryan Hibbert, are optional. Agreeing to them is never a condition of signing up. Reply STOP to any message to stop receiving them, or HELP for help. Message and data rates may apply. See the SMS Terms in our Terms & Conditions.

How long we keep it

We keep sign-up information only as long as we need it to organize classes. You can ask us at any time to correct or delete your information by replying to any email we have sent you.

Changes

If we change this policy, we will post the new version on this page with its effective date.
